Not a huge fan of it, at first I thought it was better but as you already stated captured provinces provide too little, and the diplomacy with elite AI is broken.I have no idea how I pissed off Sweden as Germany but Sweden attacked me and were easily repelled. But a day later I notice I'm at war with every elite AI around me.

Somehow getting war declared on me and then invaded by an Elite AI dropped my popularity with the other Elite AI to 8% from 88%.I hadn't done anything yet either the game was only 8 days old and I had just been turtling the whole game until I was strong enough to expand. But suddenly I'm getting invaded on almost every side.
