Traveling baseball and softball are known to have a higher level of competitiveness than recreational baseball and softball. A lot of players considering to make the jump to traveling ball should be made aware of the following:
- Travel ball can be more expensive than recreational. On average, our teams are playing 30 or more games per season, which equals more baseballs/softballs, umpire fees, and field maintenance. The league provides jerseys and hats for each player, allowing our kids appearance to match their dedication to baseball/softball. Our teams also participate in tournaments, some out of the state, giving our children the opportunity to play kids from all over the country. Our teams have faced opponents from Massachusetts, Connecticut, The Bronx, Texas, California, and even Mexico-just to name a few. Thus, preparing our children for baseball/softball, should they continue beyond high school.
- There is no guarantee of playing time. The best players play.
- There is an increased chance for high level development. Players looking to play in college and beyond should seriously consider joining a traveling team
- You will be required to try out and will be placed on a team according to ability.
- Rules are generally more closely related to major league baseball/softball.
