Playstation Home Closing

This is no April Fools' Day prank. After six years, Sony's online virtual world-PlayStation Home-is now officially closed. The virtual destination.

It's not an April Fools' Day joke; this has been a long time coming.Despite according to nDreams CEO Patrick O'Luanaigh, the virtual world's was announced last September. 'My feeling is one of sadness,' O’Luanaigh said last year. 'Not because Home is closing, but because Sony doesn’t appear to appreciate what an incredible experiment PlayStation Home was.' PlayStation Home, launched in 2008, was an online virtual world meant as a social hub of sorts for PlayStation 3 users. You could create an avatar, buy clothes, decorate a virtual apartment, chat with others in themed districts, play mini-games, and more.

PlayStation Home will be shutting down at the end of March, 2015 according to Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia. All sales for usable content in PS Home will be also interrupted starting on September 24,2014 in preparation for the service termination. The North American and European versions of the service won’t be affected for now.

Sony has not revealed the reason behind this decision, and whether or not PS Home will be coming to PlayStation 4 anytime soon. It’s very likely for the service to also be closed in NA and Europe in the next few months, or years. So, you should enjoy PS Home while it lasts, because you might not have another chance next time.

The trailer shows off the upgraded visuals that are the main focus of this port and also introduces several of the lead Wonderful Ones who you’ll get to meet and know over the adventure. The wonderful 101 sales.
