Act Of Aggression

Sep 02, 2015  Act of Aggression is a real-time strategy game developed by Eugen Systems and published by Focus Home Interactive. Act of Aggression is stated to be a spiritual successor to Eugen Systems' previous Act of War titles, hence the similarities in the titles.

Posted: 22 AprilWhile I cannot speak for the Reboot edition since that is MP only, I will only talk about SP.The game is very close to C&C: Generals. I have nostalgia tinted glasses for that game.Most of the campaign is ok. The game has to rely on gameplay only since the story is boring and the voice acting is bad.The campaign is split into two groups. One is the good side comprised of the US faction and the Chimera faction. The Chimera, having quite the omnious name, are the jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none faction.

The US are highly specialised with recognisable vehicles from real life.The second group are the bad guys, the Cartel faction. Primarily stealth-based.While MOST of the campaign is good. The ending to the Chimera campaign is STUPIDLY hard.

So hard, the developers patched out ways to make the last mission easier. That is how hard it is. Now, I normally do not go out of my way to formulate a bad opinion on a game I did bad in. If I am bad at a game I do not bash it. However the very fact the devs made the last mission as hard as possible angers me.

I cannot bring myself to play the Cartel campaign as I heard from a friend it gets even harder.I hear you say: 'How hard can it be?' Entrenched enemies, prepared defences, constant spawns like they are clown car-ing out of the factory, constant super weapons are fired at your base, artillery tanks (hard to kill, huge AOE attack, lots of damage, bigger range than your artillery, big groups of them), low amount of resources that are sparse and aircraft spam.Do not purchase the game for SP. If you want to only play MP or in Skirmish. Go ahead.I really want to give it a good review but if your goal is to make your ending AS HARD AS POSSIBLE, your game does not deserve it.
